Privacy
How Vril Maps handles map usage, account data, and third-party map services.
Map browsing
- Search and reverse geocode requests are sent to Vril Maps servers, which proxy OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Coordinate and query text needed for the lookup are processed to return results.
- Route requests send only the start and end coordinates you select to a proxied OSRM routing service.
- Street tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap tile servers; satellite tiles from Esri World Imagery. Providers receive typical HTTP tile requests for the viewport you view.
- “Save location” in the map context menu stores entries in your browser local storage on this device unless you clear site data.
Accounts & security
- If you sign in, authentication uses the shared Vril Identity stack (credentials, sessions, optional MFA) consistent with other Vril products.
- Admin website settings (for example social share) are stored in the shared Vril database when configured.
